The Monday Pop Culture Ramble
2011 was supposed to be pop’s greatest year. After all, Britney Spears delivered “Hold It Against Me,” her addictive single that has the tempo of a manic episode (albeit, a dubstep episode), only two weeks into the new year. With Gaga tweeting weekly about “the greatest album of the decade,” 2011 felt like it would be remembered as the greatest year in pop music since...

The Gaga Conflict
My queer literature class has put me in a conflict with my love for pop stars-especially Lady Gaga. Gay men get stereotyped as stupid, ignorant queens, who care more about glitter than Lybya. (How did it...
In Forests for Trees, the book I’m reading, the editor recommends that writers listen to what people hate about them and use it to their benefit. This was the best news I heard all day!
So far I think there’s three classic albums from this decade: Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Robyn’s Body Talk Series, and Adele’s 21. They’re all masterpieces. Will these artists ever top themselves?
