A Playlist for Conference Week

I apologize for only posting about pop songs lately. It’s conference season here at Sarah Lawrence, so I’m busy writing twenty to thirty page papers about John Milton and transsexuals (two separate essays; I feel like I only study queers and dead poets at this college; I would feel guilty if I didn’t have a scholarship). These papers cause me to listen to an odd assortment of music. Lately, I wake up singing the Anastasia soundtrack or ‘Ignition (Remix).’ Today I mostly listened to Aaliyah’s Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number, an album full of great love songs written by R.Kelly about how Aaliyah was his child bride. Why Milton inspires me to listen to child bride love ballads? I don’t know. But here are my favorite songs I listened to today. They’re great for everyone, even people who aren’t writing about dead poets and drag queens.
